Day 16 Nairobi to Cape Town
Dunga Hill Camp, Kisumu to Fishermans Camp, Naivasha 287km
After breakfast we hit the road at 0700 for an early morning shop at the Nakumatt store (equivalent to Carrefour, Sainsburys or Publix) to pick up lunch.
We then continued on to Kericho when we visited the tea plantations which supply Liptons & other large tea companies. After a very informative explanation on Tea, how it is made, harvested, graded & tasted we got back on the truck to continue our journey on towards Naivasha.

We had an afternoon stop at Gilgil when some of the group bought roast lamb and goat from the local shops, the most entertaining part was the shop owners in your face competing with the other shop owners for your patronage, very amusing!

We finally arrived at Fishermans Camp around 1700 and were welcomed by a Hippo which was grazing on the shore of Lake Naivasha (fortunately there was an electric fence separating it from us but allowed us to get very close! We rushed to setup the campsite for the cook team before having a well deserved shower, a beer at the bar and a cooked dinner with the rest of the crew. We called it a night and went back to our mosquito infested cabin with resident rat and had a peaceful nights sleep knowing our mosquito net was keeping them all at bay.
