Day 41 Nairobi to Cape Town
Mabuya Camp, Lilongwe to Jay Jay Ku'ansenga Lodge, Zambia 300kmWe were up early and packed away our camp, had breakfast & slowly proceeded out of the capital and headed the 80km to the Zambia border. We made good time to the border with light weekend traffic making life easier for us. We managed to get to the border before lunch and after having our checks for yellow fever and getting multiple entry visas we drove through the border and onto dirt roads as we found out that all the main roads in Zambia were being rebuilt which slowed us down considerably.
We managed to find Jay Jay Ku'ansenga Lodge before dark and setup camp with a large local party going on in the background. The manager informed Gareth that the locals would be leaving at 20h00 and we would have a quiet night to ourselves, however 20h00 came and so did a load of locals and the party went full swing with the volume being taken to the next level to our surprise. We managed to fall asleep without too much problems but during the night a couple of the guys had placed their tent on an ants nest and had an eventful early morning.
